General Data Protection Regulation

The General Data Protection Regulation is a law that was passed by the European Union, which takes effect on May 25, 2018. The law is an improvement over the 1995 Data Protection Directive. The aim of GDPR is to improve data privacy for internet users, while also promoting data transparency to ensure users have knowledge of how their data is being used. The law encompasses EU websites, along with websites that service EU users.
